Holy Family Church

Holy Family Church

Last Sunday and today I took an Auto-Rickshaw to the Holy Family Church, about a 5 minute ride from the hotel that I am staying at. This Sunday I took my camera, and there are many more pictures that can be found by clicking on this one.
I find the liturgy and the responses of the Catholic Church very peace making. The mass was given in English and the priest and the parishioners all spoke very good English. Last weeks was about the Saducee's question about the 7 brothers. I listened to Knox Waterloo on the web with my Delhi friend Shaji and Brooke spoke on the same scripture, which was also very peace making.
My India trip is drawing to a close. I am in the office now with the publications people. We shared a pizza. I got the lion's share however as the documentation people are all ladies.

Happy Diwali

Out of the water

As I am writing this, Ben is sleeping in his own bed. Dianne drove up to Barrie and picked him up Monday. I spoke to him on the phone the other night, and he sounded like he always does. He has also been for coder's dim-sum, so his appetite must be still improving. Good thing, because he is 6'2 and down to 150 lbs. Ben still has the remnants of his appendix which ruptured around the 15th of October. Eventually, when he is better, he will likely need them removed. His rugby mates visited him in the hospital and gave him the game ball from their last (winning) game of the season October 26th.
I am writing this, and not in my own bed (or walking Beamer) because I am in India. I left as Dianne was leaving to pick up Ben. So far I was not met at the airport, the driver didn't pick me up for work yesterday, and today 2 of the servers that I am supposed to be using for testing are down. It is the second Diwali that I have spent in India. I wore my gray Kurta today to try to honor the occasion. We went out for lunch, and had very good naan bread and lamb in spinach gravy.
The picture is from Sunday, which seems like a very long time ago indeed. Dianne and I went down to the boat again for a walk and to get the cushions. It was a lovely time.
